Meera Ramaswamy
Hi!
I am Meera Ramaswamy (she/her), and you can find out more about my research here!
I am a Princeton Centre for Complex Materials postdoctoral fellow in the Prof. Sujit Datta lab. I did my undergraduate studies in Engineering Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and my PhD in Physics at Cornell University. During my PhD I studied the rheology and microstructure of shear thickening fluids (the physics behind people walking on cornstarch and water!). I am currently interested in understanding bacterial growth and motility in complex environments.
Outside the lab, I enjoy reading, Bharatanatyam (a classical Indian dance form), hiking, swimming, and solving sudokus. I started baking during the pandemic and now enjoy trying recipes that require a high degree of precision but also have a high failure rate.
